All discussions within coaching sessions are confidential.
No information will be shared with third parties without your explicit consent, unless required by law or where there is an identified risk of harm to yourself or others.
Sponsored coaching and confidentiality
Where an organisation sponsors coaching, confidentiality applies in the same way as for privately funded coaching.
The content of one-to-one coaching sessions between the coach and coachee is confidential. It will not be shared with a sponsor, line manager or organisation without the coachee’s knowledge and explicit agreement.
At agreed review points (for example, midway or at the end of the programme), the coach and coachee will decide together what, if anything, is shared with the sponsor or organisation. This may include progress against agreed coaching goals or next steps, but will not include personal details or confidential coaching conversations unless the coachee agrees.
Information discussed in joint sessions (for example, three-way kickoffs or review meetings) is shared by the nature of the conversations.
Confidentiality may only be broken where required by law or where there is a risk of serious harm.
